Better Feet
I went down to the Alpine dry slop in Aldershot (see previous posts for deatils) to test my new insoles. They so much more comfortable than the previous ones. Definitely well worth standing in the shop with my trousers rolled up, looking like a buffoon, for twenty minutes.
I was correct in my assumption that I couldn’t ski any better, but I am improving - not a lot.
Anyway good work Charlotte - well fitted - How could I possibly thank you?
New feet - Snow and Rock Shop
I went to Snow and Rock in Chertsey today, to have my boots looked at. An exeedingly attractive (I mean’t to say helpful) lady called Charlotte made me some custom insoles. I have to say, appart from be most attractive, she really seemed to know her stuff and has made me some very confortable insoles. I doubt they will make me ski any better, but maybe I will be able to ski badly for a bit longer now, before my feet fall off.
So in short, if you are looking for some expert help, I would strongly recommend Snow and Rock in Chertsey. The service is excellent and they do a good cup of hot chocolate also.
Charlotte, if you happen to see this page - I thank you. I will hopefully try them out soon. And yes - I will clean my boots!!
Alpine Snow Sports
Just found a new dry slope in Aldershot. Alpine Snow Sports It is considerably bigger than the one in Esher and at the top of the biggest slope, I did wonder how I was going to get down it. However after a few minutes of thinking I was mad, I slung myself down it. Hey presto after a few goes I was quietly confident and made good progress in developing my skills - (which I hasten to add are still pretty poor)
Still every little bit of practice helps and at £10.00 for two hours including ski hire, you can’t complain - in fact I think it is very good value.
A good little joke
Thanks to Tony M for this one.

“Under ground”, “Overground”, “Wombling Free”
I got sent this today, by a chum. It made me laugh out-loud so I thought I would share it with you. If you can’t quite make it out, I will happily get a copy to you, either via download or email.
If you can’t be bothered “Under ground”, “Overground”, “Wombling Free”
Hehehehe - do think I need to grow up.
So I think I shall say thank-you to Mr Nash, courtesy of bt3a.
Just be grateful I can still type - I ache so much from skiing yesterday.
Dry Slope Skiing
Yes it is that time of year. Today I ventured on the dry slopes in Esher for a bit of a pre-season warm up and exercise. I only managed to fall over twice…..a bit rusty I feel. Still it wasn’t quite the spectacular wipeout that you might expect from someone with my ability, but ho hum. It’s all good fun. I shall add the links to Esher dry ski slope shortly.
Does anyone know any good slopes in Surrey, Sussex or nearby. If so let me know. As so many people are heard to say, I am looking for something with a little more length. (Esher is quite small)
Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football Transfer Password

Borovets, Bulgaria Skiing
The time has come again to start thinking about booking up skiing holidays. I am planning a trip, again, to Borovets in Bulgaria. This is an excellent resort for the beginner skier. I do plan to rant on a little bit more about the site in the near future, however, time as always is pressing.
I shall be booking the Samokov Hotel, which is situated on the doorstep of the main Gondola lift. It has excellent facilities and it plonked right in the middle of the town, so it is excellent for all the restaurants and bars etc. I might add the “Katies Bar” is opposite the hotel and provides excellent food and is perfect for a little apres ski refreshments. It also has an excellent collection of wine. The hotel is rated 4* but I wouldn’t quite say it lives up to that - However it does everything that it needs to.
Whilst on the subject of Katies Bar - Stephan who acts as the perfect host, also is an excellent ski instructor and provides entertaining lessons during the day, at most affordable prices - and I hasten to add is a thoroughly nice chap.
Anyway, for now, I must go. I will post some pictures of the resort shortly. Click on the photo to see more Skiing in Borovets, Bulgaria Photos.
Ski and Snow Show - Earls Court
I went to the Ski and Snow Show today at Earls Court. In short it was OK. There was loads and loads of ski and snowboard equipment for sale - so excellent if you are looking to kit up for this season. Also, loads of travel companies offering cheap ski holidays (cheap apparently) and there was a couple of indoor slopes that have been built. I watched a little show of skiers and boarders do tricks (no Debbie Magee) on these slopes, which I have to say was excellent. If you were wanting to but a computer or a new car/motorbike, this is not the show to go to. (Otherwise it would be called the computer and car/motobike show.) If you are looking to buy a load of new gear for this season - well worth a visit, although I’m not sure it was quite worth the twelve pounds to get in.
Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football Transfer Password
Morning to all who are using this site. This weeks Daily Telegraph Fantasy Football Transfer Password has been posted to here. The page is a bit scruffy at this moment, but I don’t intend on changing it for the moment - I am waiting for the BBC to appove a news feed for it . When that has happened, I shall update it.
Triumph Daytona 675

I haven’t heard anyone say a bad word about this bike yet. It seems that Triumph have come up trumps again. For those that are interested, I believe Jack Lilley in Ashford (stood corrected) are getting one in very soon. I know that they have received several orders for them - and that’s without people even having laid eyes on the real thing yet.
When I find out more about when they are getting them in, I will update this post. Perhaps the jolly lads at Jack Lilley Ashford may like to comment. (The chaps at Jack Lilley are probably the nicest bunch of Triumph Dealers that you are going to find in this area…..let me be one of the first to test dive the Daytona 675, please.) Watch this space. My Triumph Tiger is stull purring - ummmm
